As you may have noticed, this site has been called my "online Book of Shadows", and you may well be wondering what that is. Basically, a Book of Shadows is a Witch's personal book where they keep all of their notes about their religion. Some people buy blank notebooks that they write in, some use folders (like me), and others use Word documents saved on their computer. There is no set way to own a Book of Shadows, you just need to find the way that suits you.
You can put in a variety of things in your Book of Shadows, but a majority of them contain things such as the following:
- Wiccan Rede/principles
- Festival information
- Rituals and Spells
- Information on gemstones, herbs or incense
- Psychic experiences (eg Medatative visions)
Some Witches have been known to have two sets - one for general notes on Wicca and other "theoretical" things, and one for noting down spells and rituals. The latter is often called a Grimorie, while the former stays as the Book of Shadows.
